Job Description

Job Title: Contract-to-Hire Web Designer I
Salary: Based on experience
Work Location: Remote

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Web Designer I to join our creative team on a contract-to-hire basis. If you have an eagle eye for design, a passion for creativity, and a strong understanding of WordPress, this role could be perfect for you. You'll be working in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your ideas and skills can shine.

Preferred Education:

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (or Certificate equivalent) in art, graphic design, web design, or a related field
Experience working in an agency setting is a plus but not required

Key Responsibilities:

Design and code monthly publications
Design and code monthly e-newsletters
Website creation and ongoing maintenance
Develop new ads for clients, including animated and programmatic ads
Create web/email videos
Conceptualize and design websites, focusing on UI/UX
Update and design WordPress themes
Collaborate on print and digital collateral for internal projects, trade shows, and client campaigns
Design assets for social media, both internal and for clients

Primary Functions:

As a Web Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning layouts, themes, and user interfaces. Your work will enhance the online presence of home services clients by aligning with their brand identities. WordPress proficiency and strong conceptual design skills are key to excelling in this role.
General Responsibilities:

In addition to web design, you'll support the team with monthly publications, e-newsletters, ad development, and the creation of engaging digital content such as animated ads and web videos.
Skills & Competencies:

We're looking for a designer who brings creativity and technical skills, as well as:

The ability to stay calm under pressure
Excellent organizational skills
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD
Knowledge of web design best practices
Experience with creating online ads
Understanding of user experience (UX) and web standards
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap or FLEX)
Experience developing and testing websites across multiple browsers and devices
Familiarity with open-source CMS platforms such as WordPress
Bonus: Experience in the home services or e-commerce industries

Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience working with WordPress
1-3 years of web development and design experience
Degree or certificate in a related field (art, graphic design, web design, etc.)
Previous experience in a marketing or advertising agency is highly valued
