UAF's Community and Technical College is excited to add a new opening for a Term Assistant Professor of Professional Piloting to our Aviation program. We are looking for the right individual to develop an online Private Pilot Occupational Endorsement (OE) and teach and support the courses offered for the OE. This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. It is a bi-partite position with both teaching and service components. To thrive in this position the successful candidate will use intermediate to advanced computer skills, demonstrated oral/written communication and presentation skills to train students interested in professional piloting. Their ability to work effectively with the Federal Aviation Administration will be vital to the students educational experience. Their Private Pilot Certificate, Commercial Pilot Certificate and Certified Flight Instructor credentials will be critical for the ideal candidate who will use these credentials along with their familiarity with Alaskan aviation and experience with rural Alaska and diverse cultures and learning styles to provide the highest quality training for our students.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology/Management or equivalent OR an Associate Degree and three years of experience as a pilot.
• Candidates must be a certified flight instructor.
• A minimum of 2 years full-time equivalent teaching OR a combination of 1 year full-time equivalent teaching plus 2 years of full-time equivalent piloting aircraft is required.

This position is located at the UAF Community and Technical College in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
