Responsibilities

The role provides elementary level network infrastructure for the delivery of LAN and WAN including:

• Base networking knowledge:  Firewall and switching skills, IP routing and Linux networking.
• Documentation:  Assist in maintaining network documentation including diagrams, procedures, best practices and product performance and capacity metrics. 
• Automation: Using ansible and GIT tools in project deliveries when staging network projects. 
• Delivery: Assists with planning and participates as a team member for projects related to network delivery.  Assists network devices software, hardware, and configurations. 
• Trouble Shooting: Performs elementary troubleshooting of network devices such as routers and switches when supporting network operations.
• Gain Experience: Assist senior engineers with installations, network maintenance, and support.
• Continual learning: Pro-active online learning as providers updates, services and features are constantly changing. Engage in active projects to gain experience. Certification led training plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technology field or equivalent network certification and experience. 
• One year of networking experience in a support or delivery capacity.
• Understanding of basic network infrastructure and technology.
• WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, UDP and DHCP Routers and Switches Fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.  
• Position will require travel based on the business needs of the company. 

Preferred Skills 

• Basic IP routing, load balancing, firewalls, switching skills using Cisco, Fortinet and A10 equipment.
• Network automation tools such as GIT and Ansible.
• Python programming and Linux networking an advantage.
