Job Description

Position: Instructional Assistant – Special Education

Location: Inglewood, CA

Forte Behavioral Health LLC is committed to fostering positive change in the lives of children with developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals who are eager to make a profound difference in a school-based setting as a Teacher’s Aide (Instructional Assistant).

 

Compensation: $18 - $21 per hour, depending on experience

Employment Type: Part-Time, approximately 30 hours/week

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, during daytime school hours

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of college courses or degree is a plus.

You should be prepared to provide instructional support and adapt to students' unique needs. If you have a passion for education and a background in child engagement, such as afterschool programs, sports activities, camps, or childcare, we would love to hear from you.

Key Requirements

- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

- Reliable transportation is a must.

- Strong proficiency in English, including grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.

- Basic understanding of mathematics.

- Exceptional organizational skills.

- Physically fit enough to maintain an active role in the classroom and playground.

- Previous experience working with children.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instructional support.

- Assist teachers in managing students’ behavior.

- Support students 1:1 or as a group in a special education classroom.

- Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities for students in grades K-12.

- Assist students in following classroom routines and tasks while increasing their independence.

- Help with essential self-help skills, such as toileting and hygiene.

- Supervise students during classroom and outdoor activities.

- Prepare students for mainstream classes according to established procedures.

- Manage educational equipment and assigned materials responsibly.

Experience with children with special needs is desired, but not a requirement. We believe in empowering our team members with the skills they need to succeed. Therefore, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you feel confident and prepared to make a meaningful contribution to our students' academic journey.
