• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Registered Professional Forester License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Completes CAL FIRE Firefighter Academy (FFA) and Company Officer Academy (COA) training during probationary period as a condition of employment.  

The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment (including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The use of such equipment may place a physiological burden on the incumbent that varies with the type of equipment used, the job and workplace conditions in which the equipment is used, and the medical status of the incumbent. As such, Cal/OSHA requires that the incumbent be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. This clearance process consists of a comprehensive medical evaluation including a review of the incumbent’s medical history, a complete physical examination, and vision, hearing, spirometry, and exercise treadmill tests.

The Forester III classification is eligible for the following pay:

$7738 - $10042 Base Salary (paid every month)

$1160 - $1506 Extended Duty Pay (15% of base pay paid every month)

$1851 Recruitment and Retention Differential (paid every month)

$128,988 – $160,788 Annual Compensation

The Forester II classification is eligible for the following pay:

$7371 - $9559 Base Salary (paid every month)

$1105 - $1433 Extended Duty Pay (15% of base pay paid every month)

$1851 Recruitment and Retention Differential (paid every month)

$123,924 – $154,116 Annual Compensation

In addition to the above pay items, employees are eligible for medical benefits (health, dental, vision) and may be eligible for other pay differentials.
