The Role: Energy Regulatory Associate | Austin, TX
We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Regulatory Associate to join a prestigious law firm in Austin, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful regulatory and compliance matters within the Energy & Natural Resources business unit while collaborating with a dynamic and innovative legal team.

In this position, you will:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Advocate in proceedings involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), ISO/RTOs, and organized power markets.
  • Manage power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in the Energy & Natural Resources business unit to provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Deliver innovative solutions for clients in high-stakes energy regulatory matters.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

  • Years of Practice: 48 years of experience in energy regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Regulatory Advocacy: Experience before state utility commissions or in power transactions is preferred.

Educational Credentials

  • Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Bar Membership: Active Texas bar license or a commitment to obtaining one promptly.
