Position Summary

The Communications, Marketing, & Social Media Coordinator will support the departmentâ™s marketing and communication efforts by managing social media platforms, assisting with content creation, and providing support for marketing and communication initiatives. This role is responsible for executing day-to-day social media activities, assisting with creating engaging content, and enhancing the departmentâ™s visibility through online engagement. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications and team members, the Coordinator will ensure alignment with the departmentâ™s communications objectives.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Social Media Management

  • Manage the daily operations of the departmentâ™s primary social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and audience engagement.
  • Develop and implement social media tactics to drive engagement and follower growth, ensuring alignment with the departmentâ™s MarComm goals.
  • Monitor social media trends, interact with audiences, and respond to comments and messages to foster community engagement.
  • Track and report social media performance metrics, sharing insights with the team to inform future strategies.

Graphic Design

  • Create graphic assets, such as social media visuals, banners, infographics, and promotional materials, using tools such as Canva or Adobe.
  • Ensure all visuals are cohesive with the schoolâ™s brand identity and support the goals of specific campaigns, coordinating with the MarComm team as needed for alignment.
  • Assist in preparing visual content, making sure that all assets are optimized for web and print use.

Content Creation & Communications Support

  • Assist with writing and editing content for newsletters, web updates, and other communications, ensuring consistency with the departmentâ™s messaging strategy.
  • Work closely with the MarComm team to ensure all messaging is consistent, clear, and tailored to the appropriate audience.
  • Support content management efforts, ensuring that materials for digital and print publications are up-to-date and on-brand.

General Marketing & Communication Support

  • Assist with planning and executing marketing and communications activities, including coordinating event promotion and on-site support for social media coverage.
  • Help manage administrative tasks related to marketing campaigns, including organizing assets and maintaining campaign calendars.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions and provide creative input on upcoming campaigns and initiatives.
  • Attends and coordinates photo shoots as necessary to support senior MarComm team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
