Job Description

Valley Forge Fabrics: This is an onsite position in Fort Lauderdale. SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for ensuring overall on-time delivery of VFF customer orders, focusing on domestic finishers, and delighting and exceeding internal customer expectations until goods have arrived at distribution center(s) by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates reports to identify orders requiring the Expediting Team's action to meet customers' expectations for delivery and price.
  • Correspond with suppliers to expedite production sample dates and production delivery dates to meet customer requirements.
  • Receives orders, allocates orders, and gets orders ready for billing.
  • Escalates or transfers orders unable to be improved to the Manager, Expediting & Logistics to meet customer demands through the efforts of the expediting team, within appropriate time frame for action.
  • Responsible for coordination with suppliers and forwarders to ensure effective freight consolidations (Air & Sea) ultimately resulting in timely deliveries that meet customer expectations.
  • Negotiate Rates with forwarder for Air and SEA shipments and approve Invoices for international shipments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that shipment details are accurately reported in MS D365
  • Develop solutions to propose and then collaborate with internal customers on how to solve any issues pertaining to shipment delays and shortages/overages.
  • Assist others, when necessary, regardless of personal workload or priorities. Always acts in the best interest of creating 'raving fans' internally and with VFF customers.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Valley Forge’s Customer Project Specialists, Product Development and Supply Chain teams to collaborate for best outcomes for customer needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • This role will back up the team manager as needed during absences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with Supply Chain & Logistics.
  • 3+ years of fabrics or finished furnishing product experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience dealing with international suppliers.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills. Ability to calculate figures, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines.
  • Great customer service and communication skills. Enjoys collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be comfortable working with Excel, extra brownie points if you have experience with Salesforce CRM and MS Dynamics 365

PERFORMING REQUIREMENTS:

Seated working environment for extended periods of time, with ability to use hands for entering data into computer systems, read / see / write email and correspondence, speak clearly to internal and external customers, hear and respond to questions and instructions over the phone and in person, walking / light lifting of office supplies and samples.
