This position can be worked at our Global Contact Center in Omaha, Nebraska or Marion, Illinois. This position can also be worked remotely.   Please note this position can only be worked remotely from the following states:   Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.

The SQL Data Steward works closely with the SQL Database Administrator while building and maintaining all databases within the GPGS SQL environment.  This SQL Data Steward must be proficient in ETL processes (including using Python to connect to APIs), data modeling, Microsoft SQL Server software, Business Intelligence tools, SSDT, SSIS, SSRS and T-SQL (including writing stored procedures, functions and triggers).  This position is primarily responsible for the data architecture, data flows, and documentation related to all GPGS databases. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain SQL maintenance plans and maintain SQL server security and permissions.  
  • Design and implement tables, views, and stored procedures to support data cleansing and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.  
  • Designs, builds, and schedules SQL server jobs to automate data extraction tasks using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Python, and other technologies.
  • Design and support applications to interact with SQL Server databases to produce interactive data entry.
  • Maintains data dictionaries and documentation for department data sources and databases.  
  • Partners with other teams and departments to ensure data is complete, accurate, and properly accessible through automated and manual audits and investigations.
  • Supports cross-function project teams with data extraction and access needs.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years Microsoft T-SQL (or equivalent) experience (including reading and writing queries as well as building objects like tables, views, stored procedures, and functions).
  • 1 – 2 years experience maintaining Microsoft SQL server (or similar DBMS) environments (specifically access control and schema design).
  • 2 – 3 years implementing and maintaining ETL pipelines and calling REST APIs (SSIS and Python or similar). 
  • Familiarity with one or more hospitality reservation or property management systems preferred. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Computer Skills Needed:

  • 2 years Microsoft Office (Excel & Access) required.
  • 3 years SQL design experience required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with SQL (any variant) required.
  • Experience with Python, PowerShell, Alteryx or other scripting languages or automation tools preferred.

Additional Comments and Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct business in the English language required. 
  • Ability to conduct business in the Spanish language is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
