Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Printing Trades Supervisor II, the Sheetfed Offset Press Operator is responsible for set up, operation and general maintenance of all offset and bindery equipment. Must have full knowledge of programming, positioning, registration and color adjustments to produce sharp, clean color and black and white reproductions. Operates the Ryobi 752P 2 Color Printing Press with perfecting device, Glunz and Jensen Platewriter 8000 Computer to Plate system, RMGT-340PCX-2 and Heidelberg QM 46 2-color press, to produce printed materials requested by approved work orders. Orders consist of making plates and printing line copies, halftones, and color work, setting and adjusting presses using various types of stock. ICTP Impostrip, Xitron CIP3 software process PDF files, create templates, archive files, ICTP windows 7 professional. Logs and stores hazardous materials for removal.

Working Conditions

Deadline oriented in fast paced atmosphere. Ability to lift 55 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. Team player with mechanical adeptness and quality control proficiencies a plus.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Two plus years experience on Ryobi, RMGT and Heidelberg sheetfed presses. Experience on iCTP plate-writer and operation make ready programs a plus.
