The University of Minnesota Librariesâ™ Safety and Security Program Manager directs safety and security programs and related activities, ensuring compliance with government and University policies, directives and procedures; develops and directs Libraries safety and security strategy; oversees the implementation of security efforts; enhances security and creates opportunity through risk control; and trains and coordinates the security-related activities of stakeholders. The classification for the position is Campus Operations - Specialist 1 - Security/Enforcement (9731SE). This position reports to the Libraries Director of Finance and Facilities.

The Libraries is a highly collaborative organizational structure that supports the Universityâ™s teaching/learning, research, and service missions and also provides strategic leadership and academic program development in an array of areas associated with knowledge resources. The Libraries organization is distributed across 12 libraries on the Twin Cities campus, with a staff of approximately 325, including the state-funded Minitex program.

Security Coordination
Strategic Planning, Assessing and Budget Responsibilities
Frontline Security Services
Community Outreach and Engagement
Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Information: This is a full-time, 12-month, annual renewable academic professional position. At a minimum, the schedule for the position is Mondays - Wednesdays (9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.), Thursdays (1:45 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.), and Fridays (11:45 a.m. - 8:15 p.m.), and requires on-call availability by phone in the case of emergencies or incidents.
