About the job: Kent is looking for a Project Engineer to support our clients in the Greater Chicago area. You will work closely with technical groups, operations, and maintenance personnel to identify scope, design and execute projects.
Your responsibilities: - Project engineering on multiple small projects simultaneously or portions of larger projects.
- Coordinate the various engineering disciplines, engineering constructions liaison, technical purchasing aspects, technical scheduling activities, and start-up aspects of a project(s).
- Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering portion of a project(s) across all disciplines.
- Ensures all project engineering activities are implemented in a manner consistent with client's core values delivering superior safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Qualification/ Certification: - Bachelor's or MS degree in Engineering and a minimum 8 years of relevant experience required.
- Professional registrations or license is not required but should be working towards it.
- Minimum 5 years working in the O&G industry.
- Working knowledge of application engineering codes/standards and their application.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision-making skills.
- Strong personal initiative, a sound planning and problem solving capacity and effective interpersonal skills.
- Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Broad knowledge of engineering discipline activities.
- Knowledge of safety and quality procedures.
- Ability to plan execution interfaces and takes corrective action with regards to engineering design.
- Provides guidance on design and technical direction to engineering staff.
- Capable of performing duties with no direct supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets.
Communication: - Excellent oral and written communication and skills.
