The Program Technician (PT) II in the Records Section is responsible for processing the more complex documents for entry into the Automated Archive System (AAS). The PT II also monitors and processes the Error Resolution, Supervisor, and Suspense Queues. The PT II performs various inquiries into the Automated Criminal History, and AAS. The PT II must determine completeness of data based on the criminal justice processes and be familiar with accessing California statutory codes.

Working Conditions

This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.

This position is eligible for telework up to 2 days a week after passing probation and completing training, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience in sorting, reviewing, and preparing documents for scanning.
• Performs quality control steps to ensure processing criteria has been met to avoid data errors.
• Indexing experience.
• Responsible for pulling and refiling folders.
• Filing documents into folder.
• Ability to resolve discrepancies involving documents and folders and train staff.
• Ability to retrieve and replace files on 9 ft carriages.
• Must be able to carry an armload of 6 to 10 inches of paper-filled folders.
• Lift 20 pounds, and push a filled metal cart weighting up to 225 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, and utilizes a step stool to retrieve folders from mobile shelving units with or without reasonable accommodation.
