The Role

The role of a Motorsport Harness and Electronics Technician is crucial in the high-stakes world of racing, where every second and every detail can be the difference between victory and defeat. This position requires a meticulous and knowledgeable individual who can handle the intricate work of fabricating and repairing engine wiring harnesses, ensuring they meet the rigorous standards necessary for peak performance and endurance.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and practical experience, particularly within the realms of racing, aerospace, or military applications, where precision and reliability are paramount. With responsibilities extending to the troubleshooting of engine management systems, the technician must be proficient in the use of specialized software and hardware tools to diagnose and resolve any issues swiftly. What You’ll Do

Support development of next-generation race engine harnesses and control systems

Maintain and update documentation of our harnesses and processes for building, testing, and troubleshooting

Deliver open and regular communication with the program managers, track support engineers, engine builders, and dyno team

Keep records, reports, and schematics updated

Maintain stock of components required for harness and sensor building

Build, test, solve issues and repair electronic circuits and programmable controls associated with instrumentation systems

Additional Description

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

Associate degree in electrical technology or equivalent job-related experience and training

3 years minimum experience building (automotive or aviation) harnesses in the field of racing, aerospace, military vehicles, or automotive prototypes

Soldering (electrical/electronic)

Ability to interpret electrical schematics to produce complex wiring harnesses which meet all dimensional, fitment, EMI, performance, and durability requirements

Fabrication and testing racing, industrial, and MILSPEC wiring systems & hardware (e.g., Cannon, Deutsch, Autosport, and Amphenol)

PC hardware and software system experience

Familiar with electrical and mechanical concepts

Engage effectively with colleagues and clients, fostering a collaborative and respectful work atmosphere

Contribute to group objectives, share responsibilities, and combine strengths to enhance team performance

Analytical problem solving

Execute tasks efficiently without the need for constant oversight, demonstrating self-motivation and time management skills

Previous experience building race engine harnesses preferred

Experience building custom wiring for small electro-mechanical devices
