Position Summary

The Manager Integration Development is responsible for leading the design, development and strategy execution for API platform management and solutions integration. This position will provide management and supervisory support to technology staff including integration developers, and supporting resources, and will manage internal development projects and vendor-supported development activities. Security measures will be incorporated into all projects to ensure the safety and security critical data and provide quality business solutions within budget and within the assigned resources. The Manager Integration Development will work collaboratively with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver robust and secure solutions that meet organizational goals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in the implementation of real-time and near real-time integration strategies utilizing REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and queue-based messaging systems.
  • Mentor development teams on integration best practices, fostering skill development and high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage team performance, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Drive the strategy, design, and implementation of integration solutions for internal and external stakeholders, adhering to leading practices and established methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain standards, roadmaps, and frameworks to modernize legacy integrations and ensure optimized implementation of future integration solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols and data governance standards across all integration projects and platforms.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to architect scalable, cloud-based integration solutions that meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Oversee the administration and delivery of integration platforms, ensuring consistent performance and reliability across production and non-production environments.
  • Evaluate and optimize system architectures to improve scalability and efficiency, primarily leveraging Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solutions to seamlessly integrate systems within hybrid-cloud infrastructures.
  • Partner with vendors and manage contingent workforce to ensure successful integration strategy formulation and implementation.
  • Establish and manage reusable integration frameworks to enhance data accessibility, accelerate delivery, and support digital transformation and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance, assisting teams in applying established architectural principles and best practices.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, implementation, and auditing.
  • Mitigate technical risks by proactively addressing challenges and ensuring reliable service delivery.
  • Advise and support solution architects in analyzing problems and selecting appropriate integration platforms.

     

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Extensive exp w/ integration techn & middleware development, w/ direct hands-on expertise w/ at least one Enterprise Integration tool (e.g., IBM App Connect, Microsoft BizTalk, MuleSoft, Microsoft Azure Integration Srvcs Oracle Integration Cloud or other).

Demonstrated expertise in integration patterns, including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Event-Driven Queues, Dead Letter Queues, Publish-Subscribe, Point-to-Point, and Hub-and-Spoke architectures.

Proficiency with source control tools, such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure Repos, with a strong understanding of version control best practices and workflows.

Proven experience in team leadership and project management, including the ability to lead projects from scoping requirements to successful launch.

Exceptional communication skills with a strong foundation in leadership, vendor management, service delivery, and business strategy.

Comprehensive knowledge of technical delivery and enterprise-class IT development methodologies, with a focus on optimizing business processes.

Flexibility and willingness to work across the delivery landscape, including Agile application development, support, and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solutions, such as Microsoft Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid), Oracle Integration Cloud, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, and IBM App Connect Cloud Pak. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and manage integrations across hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Proven expertise in creating, deploying, and scaling integration solutions in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud, Azure), with proficiency in cloud architecture, domain-driven design, microservices, and native cloud application development.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native integration services, including API gateways, event-driven messaging systems, message queuing platforms, and data services, with capabilities such as content-based routing, guaranteed delivery, and aggregation.
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, and JIRA, with expertise in automating and streamlining build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, or equivalent certifications from other cloud providers) are highly desirable.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Required Certifications

Working Environment

Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.
