Job Description

Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen! We are looking for both full and part time individuals that can work evenings- 3:30 pm to Midnight.

Would you like to be part of a great, supportive healthcare team? Compass Health Network has a Mental Health Technician (MHT) position open. This position will assist pre-adolescent, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Our mission is to provide "Compass Champion-"centered age appropriate quality psychiatric nursing care. The MHT will report to a Registered or Licensed Nurse. Training is provided to maintain proper care, cognitive abilities, and diagnosis for all age groups being served. The MHT must demonstrate competency to provide care. We will train you in everything you need to know!

The Mental Health Technician Float will provide coverage during the absence of a full-time Mental Health Technician until the employee has returned to work or the position has been filled.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC

* Must be able to bend, lift, and transport patient
* Ability to provide patient groups
* A minimum of 52 educational activities per year must be completed
* MHT will provide feedback to enhance patient care in peer evaluations
* MHT must participate in mandatory overtime
* Mentor new employees, as needed
* MHT will participate on the interdisciplinary team by providing the needed patient information and recommendations to the Treatment Team
* Will provide a safe environment for psychiatric patients
* Other duties as assigned
* MHT Float must have a flexible schedule for varying shifts (if applicable)

EDUCATION

High School/GED preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least one year of psychiatric or nursing experience preferred
