Job Summary:
Are you passionate about healthcare and skilled in managing the financial side of patient care? We're looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage patient billing, verify invoice accuracy, maintain billing records, and resolve any discrepancies. You'll play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely payments by collaborating with patients, insurance companies, and our team.
We're looking for someone who not only has a strong grasp of billing software and medical insurance policies but also excels in communication. You'll be the go-to person for clients and insurance representatives, helping to resolve issues and ensure smooth billing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date in the system.
Generate bills and invoices for medical services and procedures.
Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations for patient treatments.
Monitor and record late payments, following up as needed to resolve discrepancies.
Investigate and appeal denied insurance claims.
Assist patients in developing payment plans to manage their healthcare expenses.
Maintain billing software, update rate changes, and prepare monthly financial reports.
Ensure accuracy in insurance coding to maximize reimbursements.
Collaborate with the team to resolve disputed claims and gather any missing information.
Stay current on billing policies and procedures by participating in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or a similar role.
Proficiency with billing software such as Procentive, TheraP, MNITS, and other electronic medical records systems.
Strong understanding of healthcare billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes.
Ability to multitask, manage your time efficiently, and handle a variety of responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
