Marketing Specialist (MARKETING SPEC 2) Job Summary Uses marketing concepts to perform responsibilities such as planning, developing and implementing basic marketing plans, drafting promotional or marketing materials, working on marketing events, conducting basic market research, etc. Applies skills, policies, and procedures to complete marketing projects; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.

- Experience drafting persuasive ads in a variety of mediums and proofreading.
- Knowledge of the University mission and of the value of a degree in the humanities.
- Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices.
- Written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks from several sources.
- Curiosity and research skills to ask questions and discover interesting stories.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience promoting via websites and social media.
- Experience shooting and editing short, professional, promo videos.
- Ability to earn trust and put people at ease for video shoots.
- Organizational skills and skills in file/project creation, maintenance and management.

Department Overview Languages & Literatures is a diverse unit that includes following departments and programs: Classics, Comparative Literature, Critical Theory, East Asian Languages and Cultures (Chinese and Japanese), French & Italian, German & Russian, Humanities, Human Rights, Religious Studies, and Spanish & Portuguese. These departments and programs constitute a large instruction and research unit within the College of Letters and Science. The unit also administers the UC Davis Language Center. Currently we employ approximately 300 individuals including more than 100 faculty and lecturers. The student population consists of approximately 100 graduate students and 500 undergraduates.
Languages & Literatures programs attract and serve faculty, scholars, and students from around the globe. The staff seek to support an inclusive community and provide excellent service.
Position Information - Salary or Pay Range: $26.82/hr. - $47.61/hr.
