Manager (temp), FP&A COGS

Reports to: Sr. Director, Finance
Summary:
The manager (temp), FP&A COGS will be responsible for financial planning and forecasting (FP&A) for the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) departments assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. 
   Support the monthly close and planning process for COGS:
   
   • Identify, prepare, and timely record monthly expense & CIP accruals and related departmental files analyzing budget versus actual
   • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations
   • Prepare balance sheet analytics for appropriate accounts
   • Interact with external and internal auditors, prepare and provide documentation for annual audits and SOX
2. 
   Manage the Capital Expenditure process:
   
   • Oversee Capital Expenditures including reviewing and providing guidance for Capital Appropriation requests (CAR), preparing capital expenditure and depreciation forecasts, monthly reporting, and coordinating variance explanations
   • Administer the Capital Committee including scheduling meetings, supporting the preparation of presentations, and distributing minutes
   • Coordinate, prepare, and obtain approval of standard forms for capitalization, transfers, and retirement
   • Coordinate and prepare monthly construction in progress accruals & reclasses
3. 
   Other ad hoc analysis and projects as deemed appropriate
   

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is an individual contributor, with 0 direct reports.
Interaction:
Works closely with Tax, Accounting, FP&A, auditors, and relevant business partners. No travel is required.
Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited college or university
• CPA or MBA a plus
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience in Finance and Accounting
• Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• General accounting principles and the preparation and implementation of accounting policies, systems, and procedures.
• Demonstrated current knowledge of GAAP and SOX with an understanding of internal accounting controls.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
• Demonstrated excellent analytical abilities
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment in a multi-product, multi-site manufacturing organization.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• High proficiency in MS Office including Excel (expert level), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Pay Rate Range: $50-70/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience
