Production Assistant Print and Mail Operations

Full Time - OnSite

Overview

NYSUT seeks a candidate to assist with print operations and to primarily service mail operations. Mail operations includes incoming mail and packages to be are sorted and delivered. Process outgoing mail including packages. Deliveries from: UPS, USPS, couriers, and vendors. USPS Mail drop off and pick is required. Individuals with experience working in a fast paced print and mail operation are encouraged to apply. The Production Assistant reports to the Manager of Print and Mail Services.

Responsibilities:

· Pick up mail from the Post Office.

· Prepares incoming and outgoing mail for internal/external distribution using necessary equipment and software.

· Uses hand or mail handling machines to print, process and route incoming and outgoing mail.

· Keeping necessary mail journals.

· Under supervision may operates printing, copying and other print shop equipment

· Respond appropriately to internal and tenant inquiries for mail services

· Works under immediate supervision using pre-established guidelines and timelines to perform the functions of the position.

· Maintain print and mail shop supplies and organize the storage areas

· Seasonal snow removal walkways

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Experience with Microsoft Office including outlook mail

· Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds

· Most possess a valid driver’s license

· Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

· High School Diploma or equivalent is required

· 3 to 5 years experience working in print or mail operations
