The Pohanka Automotive Group of Capitol Heights, Maryland is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to 2 currently enrolled high-school students to gain hands-on experience through our Intro to Automotive Business Winter Internship! Over the course of 4 days, this unique program will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the automotive world from the lens of a dealership group that has been in business for over 100 years. These interns will have the opportunity to spend time in every one of our departments including Service, Parts, Sales, Accounting, Finance, and Management. Whether you are interested in accounting, customer service, business, sales, or simply just love cars and are not sure what the Automotive Industry could have in store for you, this is your opportunity to learn all that we have to offer! Key Responsibilities

• Rotate through different departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of the Automotive Business.
• Assist team members with daily operations in sales, service, parts, accounting, finance and management.
• Shadow experienced professionals to learn best practices and industry insights.
• Work on assigned tasks and projects that align with your areas of interest.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a high-school educational program.
• Eagerness to learn more about career opportunities in the Automotive Industry.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Punctual, driven and determined.

Additional Information About Our Internship

* 4-DAY UNPAID INTERNSHIP

• Dates: December 30th, December 31st, January 2nd, & January 3rd (intern must be available all 4 days)
• Times: 8am-2pm
• Onsite parking available (intern transportation not provided)
• Lunch will be provided daily. Interns are welcome to bring snacks that can be left at room temperature as well as those that need refrigeration.
• Upon acceptance into the program, additional program details will be emailed to the two approved interns as well as their parents. Required forms must be completed and returned no later than December 1, 2024. Incomplete forms will result in the intern being dropped from the program with the opportunity to reapply to future programs, with no guarantee of future approval.
• Email with additional program details will include topics of focus for each day so the intern can come prepared with questions and desire to get the most out of the program, as well as what to wear each day which is dependent on that day’s job role focus.
• Parents will have an onsite point of contact with their direct contact information should they be needed at any time throughout the internship period.
• Required apparel to purchase in advance: non-slip shoes, business professional outfit with closed-toe shoes.
