Job Description
**Job Overview:**
This position serves as a member of a multidisciplinary care team to assist in
direct patient care activities taking into account specific needs as related
to patient s age and culture. This care includes activities to enhance and
ensure patient and family centered care and satisfaction. The position
requires the ability to perform various clinical activities, from simple to
complex with accuracy and efficiency under the guidance and direction of the
Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to
department policy and procedure and according to our Standards of Care.
**Qualifications:**
_Required:_
* High School Diploma or GED
* Completion of a Patient Care Tech program
* BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
* Effective communication skills and basic math skills
* Ability to read, write, and speak English
* Effective communication skills and basic math skills
* Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
_Preferred:_
* Completion of Associates degree in related field
**Certifications and Licenses:**
* BLS certification through American Heart Association
* Certification as a Patient Care Technician
* Phlebotomy Certified
**Scheduling Requirements:**
* Days 7:00AM - 3:00PM
* Schedule during the week will vary based on department needs
* Per-Diem
* Mandatory Orientation
**Essential Functions:**
* Participates in assessment of patient needs and patientfamily education needs consistent with personal knowledge base
* Communicates with the health care team to help solve priority problems
* Other duties assigned
