Job Title :   Health Information Management (HIM) Manager

Location : Hospital located less than one hour South of Salinas

Salary : $101,296 - $133,972.80 annually

Job Type : Full-time, Permanent

Position Overview

A hospital in a picturesque location south of Santa Cruz, CA, is seeking an experienced   Health Information Management (HIM) Manager . This full-time position offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a collaborative team environment.

HIM Manager Responsibilities

• Oversee medical records activities   across the hospital and clinics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  
• Manage   legal record management ,   release of information , and   birth registry   processes.
  
• Supervise HIM staff, including the   Clinic Medical Record Supervisor , and provide support for healthcare providers with electronic record access.
  
• Serve as the   HIPAA Privacy Officer , ensuring adherence to privacy regulations.
  
• Collaborate with various departments to maintain high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality.
  

Qualifications

• Education : Degree in Health Information or related field preferred.
  
• Licensure : Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as either:
  
• RHIT  (Registered Health Information Technician) or
  
• RHIA  (Registered Health Information Administrator)
  
• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of HIM experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
