Job Description

We are a small business in the wide format digital printing industry. We have three divisions that serve different markets with a variety of printed products. We are searching for a graphic designer who will help us prepare files for printing. You will work closely with customer art files, inspecting and preparing designs for print. In a typical day, you will work through a list of banner and product images, resizing existing designs into various formats for digital output. You might work directly with customers, laying out type and assisting with their projects. This also involves creating proofs and monitoring approvals or revision requests. You might also be asked to come up with your own product designs or assist with creating visual reports or preparing images for our websites. This is a full-time, on-site position. Some nights and weekends are required for large event installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives customer art files in various conditions and prepares them for printing
  • Helps gather requirements and project specifications, brainstorms and mocks up design ideas, presents ideas to management and/or clients, and adjusts designs based on feedback
  • Works with our sales team, other designers, print operators, and finishing team to complete the final product accurately
  • Develops materials for websites, online and print marketing materials, promotional displays, newsletters, etc.
  • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Portfolio required
  • Adept at Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, staff, vendors, and others
  • Self-reliant; able to work independently and accept responsibility for projects
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Highly professional and dependable
