Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Sanford, North Carolina is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
The purpose of this job description is to communicate the responsibilities and duties associated with the position of Golf Course Superintendent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage all activities required to produce excellent playing conditions daily.
• Hire, train and supervise the maintenance team, creating staff schedules to ensure high-quality standards.
• Plan and implement a fertilizer, aeration, and pest management program for optimal
turfgrass and plant care.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to prepare and maintain the annual golf course maintenance budget.
• Participate in the development of course improvement projects and lead the implementation.
• Supervise equipment maintenance and repairs, establishing preventative maintenance programs for equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all work areas, including
chemical and fertilizer storage, equipment storage, repair areas and employee facilities.
• Meet regularly with the board of directors and shareholders to assess course conditions and allocate resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relating to chemical storage,
fertilizer use, employee safety, and public safety.
• Implement and delegate daily routines for grounds staff
• Property maintenance to include buildings, paths, parking lots, lighting, physical plant, etc.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and board members.
Requirements:
3-5 years experience in the golf industry as a superintendent or assistant.
Valid driver’s license required.
Working knowledge of WA Pesticide Application law and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
Positive attitude and the ability to lead a team.

Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, ability to focus

appropriate person with an alternate plan when necessary.
Interpersonal Skills: ability to maintain satisfactory relationships with others, excellent
customer service skills and a good overall understanding of appropriate human relations.
Awareness of and sensitivity to the service population’s culture and socioeconomic
characteristics.
Judgment: ability to make prudent and timely decisions; ability to exhibit sound and
accurate judgment; ability to explain reasoning for decisions.
Language Ability: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of
organization.
Motor Coordination: the ability to coordinate eyes, hands, fingers, and feet accurately
and handle precise movements.
Problem Solving Ability: ability to identify and/or prevent problems before they occur;
ability to formulate alternative solutions to problems when necessary; ability to transfer learning from past experiences to new experiences of similar nature.
Quality Management: ability to complete duties, on time and with absolute precision, at least 95% of the time; ability to edit the accuracy and thoroughness of one’s work as well as the work of others; ability to constructively apply feedback to improve performance, ability to generate ideas to improve and promote quality in work.
Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
This job is performed both in an office and outdoor setting.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday with weekend hours as needed.
This is a salary-exempt position per Washington pay standards.
Compensation:
$69,306.00 per year.
