The Work You Will Do:
This Environmental Consultant position performs professional work under the direction of the Environmental Administrator for the Division of Water Resource Management’s Wastewater Management Program located in Tallahassee, Florida. The ideal candidate will possess discipline-specific knowledge, leadership and technical skills to promote the sustainability, implementation and efficiency of state and federal laws rules, and regulations related to surface water quality, toxicity monitoring and associated corrective actions, general and generic permits, and U.S. EPA’s e-Reporting rule.

The Environmental Consultant participates in meetings with representatives from the regulated community, stake holders and federal, state, and local governments; and assists with other duties as required. The Environmental Consultant also works with managers to plan and prioritize activities and projects in line with DEP’s strategic objectives and find integrated solutions on a variety of organizational challenges.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science or one of the natural or public health sciences from an accredited college or university; and 2 years of verifiable related experience; OR any combination of post-secondary education and verifiable related experience, as described in this posting, for a total of six years.
Valid Drivers License
Travel is required.
