JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Advancement and Engagement works closely with the Assistant Head for Advancement, Head of School, volunteers and faculty/staff to provide strategic leadership for the advancement program as it continues to build a strong culture of philanthropy throughout the school and community. The Director of Advancement and Engagement must be able to convey the benefits of the CCES experience to all constituencies and generate meaningful opportunities for the various constituencies to engage with CCES.
This position reports directly to the Assistant Head for Advancement and is a senior member of the advancement team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Collaborate closely with Assistant Head for Advancement and full Advancement team on strategy and implementation to ensure that all advancement efforts align with the school’s strategic plan
Lead all alumni relations efforts. Provide leadership for the implementation and enhancement of a comprehensive alumni engagement program. Provide full oversight of the alumni relations team. Develop overall short- and long-range plans, goals, and metrics for all alumni relations and engagement.
Serve as staff liaison to the Alumni Association Board – coordinating and attending meetings, managing volunteers, and lead programming for the AL Bash, AL Family Fun Run, and AL Christmas Party.
Provide strategic oversight to advancement calendar and events. Establish guidelines and metrics for the effectiveness for all advancement events
Collaborate with marketing and communications team to ensure that marketing receives the content they need in a timely fashion, to include; photography requests and content
Work closely with Assistant Head for Advancement on all major gift initiatives including capital, endowment, and special restricted gift initiatives
Steward donors of dedicated and/or named endowment funds with regular updates and engagement opportunities – including Helmers, Kupersmith, Daniels, and others as shared by Assistant Head for Advancement
Work closely with database manager to provide comprehensive research and profiles for briefing and prospect efforts
Manage a portfolio of 200_+ key philanthropic partners at CCES with responsibilities for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention for annual fund and major gift prospects
Plan and complete 1-2 in person visits each week
Provide dashboard reports and analysis of effective engagement through advancement activities for internal and external use
Provide BOT reports as requested by the Assistant Head for Advancement
Manage and coach advancement volunteers in a variety of roles related to advancement efforts
Utilize Raiser’s Edge to track visits, produce contact notes, and conduct appropriate constituent follow-up within appropriate timelines
