Job Title: Data Orchestration Specialist

The Role: Tesla Government is seeking an enthusiastic individual with insatiable curiosity and dedication to quality to join our team. Half in-office work may be expected, with additional time working remotely. Physical office space is in the St. Louis, MO metro area.

Position Summary: The Data Orchestration Specialist supports building and maintaining data pipelines, developing and managing dashboards, and contributing to data integration and development. Furthermore, the specialist supports data visualization to best communicate analysis of information to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with multiple teams located around the world. The specialist also supports research initiatives on security topics that include web scraping, sentiment analysis, data cleaning, extract, transform, and load (ETL), etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines across multiple networks
• Advise team members on data management best practices
• Manage real-time data flows to support missions around the world
• Work with APIs, cloud services, and data storage solutions to integrate data
• Create clear, useful data visualizations for dashboards and reports
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets
• Work with management to prioritize program and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities, especially in data reporting

Required Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to translate insights into English for the everyday person
• Skill with queries, formal reporting, and presenting findings
• Proficiency with Excel
• TS/SCI Security Clearance
• US Citizenship
• Experience with Tesla Government software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SQL, SPL (Splunk), or another query language
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages
• Knowledge of various data visualization tools and principles
• Knowledge of AI & Machine Learning Models
• Familiarity with AWS tools and resources as it relates to data management
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to think through complex problems and provide multiple options for solutions
• Ability to balance competing demands and appropriately prioritize time and effort
• Ability to evaluate costs/benefits of alternative courses of action and select high-utility choices

Education/Experience:

• BA/BS/MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Management, or similar field
• Military Experience preferred

Salary: The wage range for this role takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Tesla, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120-125K.
