You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-
being of all employees, subcontractors, and visitors on our construction sites. You will be responsible for
implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections, providing
safety training, and promoting a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with local, state,
and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
2. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety
standards and regulations.
3. Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and develop
effective solutions.
4. Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks,
and specialized training as needed.
5. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions, and prepare reports
for management review.
6. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures to
avoid recurrence.
7. Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry trends and communicate updates to
relevant stakeholders.
8. Promote a culture of safety awareness by actively engaging employees at all levels and encouraging
participation in safety initiatives.
9. Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that it is worn correctly and
consistently.
10. Serve as a resource for employees and subcontractors regarding safety-related questions and concerns.
11. Coordinate with external agencies, such as OSHA and local authorities, as needed.
12. Participate in safety audits and assist with the development of corrective action plans as necessary.
13. Conduct emergency drills and ensure that appropriate emergency response procedures are in place
and understood by all employees.
14. Assist with the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and signage.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
2. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
3. Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably in a commercial
construction environment.
4. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at
all levels.
