Cloud Solutions Architect Location Remote in Washington, DC :

Job Summary:

Cloud Solutions Architect supports the designing, building, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that will support the client organization's greater data environment Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements will be required, and then leveraging expertise to create scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions This role will be pivotal in ensuring that the cloud environment aligns with the customer's business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect Cloud Solutions: Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure as code to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standards, implementing best practices for data protection and access control.
• Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost-effective operations without sacrificing performance or reliability.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement solutions that ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Integration: Work closely with development and operations teams to facilitate the seamless integration of cloud services with existing on-premises infrastructure.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, procedures, and best practices.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
• Proven experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect, with a strong track record of designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
• Certification in one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.) and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
