Certified Psych Registered Nurse Practitioner -(2400017A )

The University of Maryland School of Medicine , Department of Neurology is seeking a part-time Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with specialty in behavioral health to work within the Clinical Center for Adults with Neuro-Developmental Disorders (CCAND) located at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedics Institute (UMROI) . This position will also see patients at our downtown Neurology Care Center. This will work 4 days, 32 hours a week.

In this position, the CRNP will function with significant practice autonomy, providing independent care in their practice, The CRNP should have some experience with EPIC electronic medical record software. This position will interface with the Maryland Epilepsy Center and the Department of Neurology faculty. The CRNP will participate in bi-weekly patient care and administrative meetings. The selected candidate will work closely with physician leadership in the daily management and care of adults with autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy and in general the provision of health care for a patient population identified by licensure. The selected candidate will independently practice ambulatory, or acute care as primary or secondary provider in clinical practice settings. The selected candidate will develop and track workflow policies, recruitment strategy, and progress through the duration of the research study or clinical trial. There is the possibility of travel to national meetings and conferences.

The CCAND functions to evaluate and provide comprehensive care to adult individual with autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy. The candidate should have experience and familiarity with psychiatric care approaches including pharmacotherapy, medication management, and cognitive and behavioral therapy, as well as working with adults with epilepsy and autism.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education : Master's in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing.

Experience : Current national certification from AANPNCB or other national certifying body (requires 18 months under a NP mentor before becoming certified) is required.

Certification/Licensure: Current Maryland license in good standing issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as a nurse practitioner or appropriate federal district licensure where research is conducted. Licensed with specific patient population and/or specialty area of research is required.

Other: Certification from Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred. May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation.

Hiring Range : $114,000 - $125,000 at 100% FTE (Commensurate with education and experience)
