Position: Barista

Overview

A Barista is a professional who crafts and serves delightful beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks. Their role involves taking customer orders, preparing drinks, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re passionate about creating exceptional coffee experiences, read on!

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with warmth and enthusiasm as they enter the coffee shop.
• Provide drink menus and answer customer inquiries regarding ingredients.
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g., coffee blend preferences, dairy choices, and sugar ratios).
• Prepare beverages following established recipes.
• Serve both beverages and prepared food items (such as cookies, pastries, and muffins).
• Receive and process payments (both cash and credit cards).
• Keep the bar area clean and organized.
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
• Check brewing equipment to ensure proper operation and report any maintenance needs.
• Comply with health and safety regulations .
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items.

Requirements and Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress.
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus.
