Job Description

Our Audio, Video and Lighting (AVL) Engineer is responsible to maintain, upgrade and propose ways that AVL can be used to enable JAARS personnel to meet our goals and mission.

Duties include maintaining all AVL systems through system administration, hardware/software upgrades and proposing ways/training JAARS personnel so they can be more productive and meet our goals and missions while reducing our costs. This position works closely with the Service Desk and Infrastructure teams within the Information & Digital Technologies team as well as vendors and key users.

This is a full-time, on-site position and a member of the Information & Digital Technologies team reporting to the AVL Manager.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and guest centered approach in the use of AVL systems
  Design, deploy, and maintain operations of AVL technology supporting local and remote staff
  Providing a mechanism for guests to utilize AVL systems.
  Train AVL volunteers in proper equipment use and ensure AVL team grow their knowledge
  Stay current on new AVL technologies and evaluate best to use at JAARS
  Maintain understanding of JAARS services to ensure AVL services support JAARS services
  Manage AVL services locally or in the cloud
  Perform other responsibilities as assigned

• Previous experience with AVL equipment and software (3+ years). Certification is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field. MBA and/or relevant graduate degree desirable
