This position will assist the head coach in coaching, instructing, planning, organizing, directing and implementing all phases of a Division I Gymnastics program as well as assist in all areas of team performance (which includes pre-season, post-season training, practice and competition). The assistant coach will work closely with support staff for peak performance of the student-athletes as well as their development and academic success. The assistant coach will also assist with recruiting activities (off-campus evaluation and organization of unofficial and official on campus visits); clinics and booster functions; develop and maintain alumnae relations and organize alumnae events; and assist in the day-to-day operations including but not limited to NCAA paperwork, academic monitoring, travel plans and itineraries, equipment and budget management, practice planning, and all other duties assigned by the head coach consistent with the mission of the department. The assistant coach is responsible for adhering to all department and university policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA.
