The Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks a creative and collaborative Assistant Professor of Public Relations and Advertising. This position is a 9-month, tenure track, academic year appointment, at the rank of Assistant Professor. Professional experience is valued, as is expertise in one or more of the following: sports media, health communication, media production, and Spanish-language media. The starting date for the position is July 1, 2025.
The faculty hired for this position will teach classes for graduate and undergraduate students in public relations and advertising and contribute to our new online master’s program in Strategic Public Relations and Advertising. In addition, our new colleague will establish a research or creative agenda and pursue grants for interdisciplinary research.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits but, in order to be eligible, children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.
